Special Characteristics and programs:
The de Paul School is a nationally acclaimed special school for intelligent students with learning differences (dyslexia, ADHD, and various processing deficits). Students who learn differently need a teaching difference, and de Paul’s expertly trained faculty provides that within a calm, highly organized, and engaging school environment. Areas of deficiency are remediated, while areas of strength are amplified. Over 95% of de Paul 8th graders are accepted into their high schools of first choice.
The de Paul School offers each child:
· A full-school course of study which features de Paul Structured Literacy (reading, comprehension, written expression, spelling, and listening skills), mathematics, social studies, science, arts and humanities, physical education, library skills, and Personal & Social Success classes.
* A peaceful culture which dignifies the individual as it promotes student engagement and achievement.
· Explicit instruction of study and organizational skills, emphasized throughout the school day.
· Year-long Compassion Project in which our students perform community service.
· A specially-designed Kindergarten program
